Global Dialogue promotes human rights and social change around the world by making grants and supporting grantmakers.
From initiating exploratory conversations on emerging issues to managing large collaborative grantmaking programmes, we help funders and philanthropists to give with intelligence and impact.
Our approach is collaborative and inclusive, understanding that complex social issues often require long-term initiatives that enable funders, activists and influencers to work together to bring about real change. We offer the tools and skills to support that collaboration.
We manage collaborative and pooled funds, combining strategic direction with practical grant-making so that funders can easily work together on complex issues. Our largest fund is the Thomas Paine Initiative, which aims to build stronger support for human rights in the UK.
We coordinate funder alliances, helping funders to come together to discuss new approaches and direct their funds accordingly. Our latest programme is Migration Exchange, a funder collaborative which aims to ensure accuracy and depth in the debate on national identity, integration, and immigration.
We promote peer-learning and support between funders and philanthropists across Europe through Ariadne, the network for European funders of social change and human rights.
We direct general grants to support human rights around the world.
We host other innovative projects which result from our grantmaking, for RightsInfo – a place to access clear, reliable and beautiful human rights information online.
We’re growing. Global Dialogue’s latest programme is the Funders’ Initiative for Civil Society, an initiative that aims to help private funders align their efforts in responding to the closing space for civil society and disabling environment for cross-border funding.
We are also developing a new migration communications hub, which will provide funded communications posts to selected organisations from the UK migration sector. Expressions of interest have been received and posts will be announced shortly.
