The Early Action Funders Alliance is a group of UK funders who share a vision of a society that prevents problems from occurring rather than one that, as now, copes with the consequences.
The purpose of the Early Action Funders Alliance is to create an active community of funders from across different sectors who use, or would like to use, early action approaches in their work, aiming for an annual increase in membership and in the funds committed to early action. We organise regular meetings to bring the field together to discuss the theory and practice of early action funding, and in the coming months we will undertake other research, convening and advocacy activities.
Membership of the Early Action Funders Alliance is open to staff and trustees of charitable trusts and foundations and to public and private sector funders and to individual donors who commit or aspire to commit at least some of their resources to early action funding. The work of the Alliance is guided by a steering group which includes Debbie Pippard from Barrow Cadbury Trust, Sacha Rose-Smith from Big Lottery Fund, Jason Bergen from Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, David Farnsworth from City Bridge Trust, Gilly Green from Comic Relief, John Mulligan from Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, and Matthew Smerdon from The Legal Education Foundation. The Secretariat function is funded by Barrow Cadbury Trust, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Legal Education Foundation.
The Early Action Funders Alliance is coordinated by Sarah Pugh. For more information on Alliance membership, events and activities please email firstname.lastname@example.org
